Tamarind Tree Seeds:
Tamarind is extremely popular in foods in several different cultures, but mainly in Mexico where it is best utilized in desserts and beverages. Tamarind is a tree that belongs to the legume family. The long brown pods contain small dark brown seeds that are extremely hard and surrounded by a sweet and tangy unique flavor that only tamarind can offer. the pulp is also suggested to have medicinal qualities as well. This tree can be started in a large pot but can grow to great heights. If you plan to keep this in a pot. You can grow it and trim it as needed. You have the option of transplanting it later if you wish.
This tree is only successfully grown in Zones 10 and 11. If you are in a colder zone, you will have to grow and keep this in a sunroom, or permanently inside by a large South facing window. Although this plant may require intermediate to advanced skills to grow, the benefit is well worth it as the pods produce exquisite fruits, plenty of seeds, and plenty of shade in the Summer!
