You need to know the basics of tatting in order to follow this pattern, as it does not include any basic tatting instruction. This is my original design for a collar necklace which I have prepared in PDF format. Both collars pictured were made from the same pattern.
This pattern is recommended for experienced tatters. Although it may be tatted using either needle or shuttle, the instructions and photos are shown from the shuttle tatting perspective only.
Techniques used include ring, chain, join, lock join, node stitch (also known as Victorian sets), alligator join.
Supplies needed are size 10 or size 20 crochet cotton, 2 tatting shuttles, small steel crochet hook, jewelry clasp with jump rings and extender chain, and jewelry pliers.
