My original design, inspired by nature: the seed pod of the Milkweed plant. This listing is for the PDF pattern only, not the actual tatted item or a printed pattern.
You need to know the basics of how to tat including split rings in order to follow this pattern, as it does not include any basic tatting instruction. This is my original design which I have prepared in PDF format.
Suitable for experienced tatters, techniques include ring, chain, picot, join, lock join, split ring, node stitch (Victorian sets). Although it may be tatted using either needle or shuttle, the instructions and photos are shown from the shuttle tatting perspective only.
The way I made the pod used 4 tatting shuttles. The detailed written instructions include diagrams and photos for tatting the pod without beads. A 2nd version of the same pod with beads is shown with diagrams only.
In size 20 Lizbeth thread the finished pod measures about 3 inches (7.6 cm) long.
