Meet the Maker
Developing laser-based products at the intersection of technology and creativity
I’m a technologist by trade, a software engineer turned Product Manager. I love technology and how it can be used to do everything from automate your home to manage the family calendar.
This love of technology and the joy I get in being a maker (think porch signs, tiered tray signs, shirts, pillows) led me to purchase my first laser, a Glowforge in 2020.
I had soon made "all the things" for my family and decided to see if there was a broader interest in my products and opened up Half Turn Designs on Etsy that Fall. I grew my wood and acrylic inventory, my understanding of the best vendors and supplies along with my listings over the next year. That next Christmas I had enough orders that made me realize that I'd benefit from a larger and faster laser...I am currently proud owner of a Thunder Nova 24 laser.
My daughter headed to Texas A&M in the Fall of 2022 and like any good mom started to make her earrings that she could wear to football games. Her friends started to ask if I could make them earrings also. There was enough interest that I researched licensing and applied for a license with Texas A&M.
Fast forward 18 months and I'm now licensed with Texas A&M, Texas Tech and the University of Texas. I really enjoy researching materials, colors and designs for earrings and personalized items for alumni, current students and football fans.
I also LOVE the holidays and will always continue to develop a variety of products to celebrate every holiday from Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day to Halloween and Christmas.
At this point I'm a one-woman show (with occasional support from my husband and daughters) who makes all of the products you see on this site, obsessing over every new piece of wood, acrylic, jump rings and earring toppers to make sure I'm able to make new and fun products that others will love.
