About this Product
The Texas Music Map celebrates the music and musicians of the Lone Star State, one of the most important regions in the development of American music.
The fully illustrated print measures 24" x 30" and features the birthplaces of more than 1000 native Texas musicians who performed its traditional and influential music: blues, jazz, country, western swing, cowboy ballads, conjunto, orquesta, Tejano, folk, rock 'n roll, rockabilly, and gospel. It also includes some Cajun, Creole, and swamp pop musicians from southeast Texas, many of those whose families had relocated from southwestern Louisiana.
The map also features dozens of illustrated portraits which represent highly influential artists from a particular town, city, or region who had a profound impact on the music and other musicians such as Lightnin' Hopkins, George Jones, Buddy Holly, Townes Van Zandt, and Lydia Mendoza.
