About this Product
Note: Hat pictured can be purchased separately or along with the shawl. Please see these listings if you want to purchase just the hat ( https://goimagine.com/some-pie-with-that-whipped-cream-hat ) or just the shawl ( https://goimagine.com/thankful-for-pie-shawl ).
Have you ever had a homemade pumpkin or sweet potato pie? If you have, you know that sometimes it can be a little imperfect--if you forgot to cover the crust and some filling splashed on the edges, you can get a dark warm brown. The top can become a warm cinnamon color in between the splashed crust and the center, and the inside is such a lovely warm brown that you can't wait to tuck into. (Not to mention the lovely flaky crust at the bottom!)
And, of course, who could forget the whipped cream on top?
The colors of the shawl and hat are inspired by the colors and textures of my memories of a homemade pie on Thanksgiving--the dark brown edges to the rings of warm cinnamon color on top, the flavorful layer of filling to the crust underneath, all topped with lovely whipped cream. This handmade shawl and hat set, much like the pie (and their maker), is not perfect--but I hope it'll bring you warmth and remind you of simpler, happier times this fall.
The original pattern for the shawl is by Olga at MyCrochetSpace, is used by permission, and can be found here: https://mycrochetspace.com/crochet-triangle-shawl/
Grumpy Hubby Crochet
Meet the Maker
Hi! My name is Dorothy, and I am the wife of the aforementioned "Grumpy Hubby", and mother to our Lovely Little Girl (as well as the artist behind "Grumpy Hubby Crochet").
My mother first taught me how to crochet when I was around 5 years old, and since then it has been like riding a bike--I may put it down for a while, but eventually pick it back up again and again. I have made baby blankets, hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, and other items in the past as gifts for friends and family, and now I am hoping to share my handmade crafts with you! Take a look around, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! :)
How it’s Made
Made using 4 different colors of 100% acrylic yarn and a granny square style stitch. This took about a week focusing on the shawl alone to crochet (I have a good bit of downtime due to a chronic illness though).
These will be prewashed with free and clear detergent and kept in a smoke-free home until it makes its way home to you.
Very grateful to Olga from MyCrochetSpace for letting me use her pattern for the shawl: https://mycrochetspace.com/crochet-triangle-shawl/
