Meet the Maker
My name is Christina and I am the proud founder of Bonhemy. For so many years, like so many of us, I was a proper consumer of any and all popular commercial solutions to my dry yet oily, red, blotchy, acne-prone, and downright troubled skin. I fell hook, line, and sinker for every bit of bait dangled in front of me. From supposed celebrity beauty secrets to colorful ads all designed to lure me in through one or more sense only to have me lose my cents. With my hopes thoroughly dashed that I’d ever find a solution to my skin problems in the beauty aisle, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Is it me? Am I the villain?" This led me to dive more deeply into the systemic reasoning my skin seemed to perpetually be in its villain era with me.
My backyard - our backyard - has spoken to me my entire life. Now I’m actively listening. Now I’m truly learning. The plants have taught me healing. The trees have taught stillness. The seasons have taught me the harmony of all beginnings and endings. And in searching for a solution to a temporary problem, I found a solution to a deeply driven pain, not just found on the surface of the skin, but even more deeply into our very bloodlines. I found that my skin was just a messenger I’d been senselessly silencing. It had been trying to tell me the cells I was born with would all work together once I nourished the source for them all -- my roots. So I found local food that nourished me. I found herbs that soothed, stimulated, and healed not just my skin, but my soul.
I’ve worked from within the machine of consumerism for over 12 years now, professionally marketing to the masses products I never really even cared about. Now, I’m stepping out and turning in. I'm starting over. And in that death, I bring you Bonhemy. Bonhemy is skincare, but I hope Bonhemy can also be soul care. I hope Bonhemy takes you on the same journey I am lucky enough to have found myself on -- the journey to the home we’ve been in this whole time.

How it’s Made
Bonhemy products are created using ancient, natural ingredients and techniques in order to address modern ailments, such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, pain from swollen joints due to arthritis, chronic pain, and hormone imbalances. Our products are specifically designed for those with sensitive skin and also address acne-prone and aging skin, wound and scar healing, sunburns, and bug bites. Bonhemy products are made from 100% grass-fed tallow from a small, family farm in Pacific, MO, rendered and purified by hand, and cold--infused for 4-6 weeks with botanics we grow, forage, or ethically source.
Grass-Fed & Pasture-Raised: Bonhemy sources from local, grass-fed, pasture-raised animals. It’s richer in nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K and ensures a more ethical, sustainable choice.
Handcrafted Quality: Bonhemy small-batch, artisan tallow products provide better care and attention to detail than mass-produced options.
Cold-Infusions: Unlike heat-infusions or essential oils, cold-infusions gently draw out the herbs' healing compounds without degrading delicate nutrients, antioxidants, and volatile oils.
Transparent Sourcing: Bonhemy will always prioritize quality and sustainability in our sourcing of tallow, as well as the carrier oils, herbs, and botanics used in our process.
