Meet the Maker
I’m an artist based in Houston, Texas, who fell in love with the process of pottery and the way it brings art into everyday life. Working out of my garage studio, I create small-batch functional ceramics designed for the home and office. Each piece is crafted with care and intention, balancing beauty and utility so that it can be enjoyed in your daily use.
How it’s Made
Handmade Process:
- Each piece is thrown on the pottery wheel with care and precision
- Allowed to partially dry to the leather-hard stage for trimming
- Trimmed and detailed by hand, ensuring each form is refined and unique
- Slowly air-dried completely before the first firing
- Bisque fired at 1855°F (1013°C), transforming the clay into a porous ceramic base
- Prepared with wax resist and carefully hand-glazed by dipping for a smooth finish
- Glaze fired to vitrification at 2165°F (1185°C), making the piece non-porous, durable, and long-lasting
