This pillow cover measures approximately 16 inches by 16 inches, will comfortably stuff a standard 18 x 18 inch throw pillow or insert, or if you prefer a looser/softer fill, a 16x16 insert will do. Meet the Maker

I learned to sew at a young age, and would create clothing and blankets for my dolls. I even dabbled in embroidery. My nickname was Katiebug, and ladybugs drew me in, with their cute lil polkadots. They truly are the meaning behind "Panic in Polkadots."

In High School, I began to made clothes for myself, since nothing ever seemed to fit right: to my body or my personality. I would modify clothes, buy clothes from thrift stores, cut them up and bleach them. I loved creating things, and I loved owning something unique that no one else had. Often, people would ask where I got my fashions. But, it seemed difficult to make clothes for anyone else but me. I didn't use conventional methods of measuring and drawing up patterns. I just went for it, cut and sewed until it seemed right, creating little masterpieces along the way.

Eventually, I was introduced to the world of collage. I made several collages of any size and theme, using paint, mod podge, old canvases, and magazine clippings. I would sit for hours and cut up zines into letters and little pictures and quotes, to fill a shoebox. Soon thereafter, I picked up the art of candle pouring. I bought candle tins but decided that they needed a little decoration, so I decoupaged them. These unique candles were decorative and functional. All of a sudden, people wanted to buy my product, and I loved to create the individualized, unique items!

Panic in Polkadots took off! I began looking into what else to create, bottlecap jewelry, wristbands made out of fabric scraps, camera cases with film camera prints! But once I started creating animal friends, I knew right away that these would be my signature product. One raccoon started it all, and I still have her to this day. So many animal friend stuffed animals and ice cream cones and cupcakes have found amazing homes. I am over the moon about it!

Lately, embroidery consumes my time, and I am forever inspired by my favorite band: AFI. I hope to continue to create and share these little masterpieces with y'all!

So, let's keep this creativity going for many years to come. It's raining polkadots, did you bring YOUR umbrella?
