About this Product
These pendants are made of color-changing Turkish diaspore set in sterling silver. Pendant #3 has a color-changing garnet accent from Madagascar as well. A chain is included, just not shown in the pictures. Color change Diaspore is a stone to be worn by men and women. I purchased my stones directly from Turkey. They are authentic, earth mined color change diaspore, not lab grown or synthetic.

The use of garnets as gemstones dates back thousands of years, used by Egyptian pharaohs, ancient Greeks and Romans in jewelry. It is even said that Noah used a garnet lantern to light the way for his ark. Garnet is known as the traveler's stone, having been carried as a talisman for protection and to light the traveler's path. There are over twenty varieties of garnets, but six types are used for gemstones: pyrope, almandite, spessartite, grossularite, andradite, and uvarovite.
This blue color-changing garnet is an extremely rare phenomenon gemstone from Madagascar. It is one of a few color-changing gems in the world, meaning they change from one color to another in different light sources. The garnets change from blue/green in natural light to purple/red in incandescent light. Tanzania also produces color-changing garnets.
Garnet is the birthstone of January, and comes in every color. It is also the zodiacal stone of Aquarius and is the 2nd anniversary stone. It is the state gemstone of Connecticut and New York, and star garnet is the gemstone of Idaho.
