Hello, and welcome to Coreyartus Imagery, where you can find imaginative illustrated paper products for your home and lifestyle!

This shop features the hand-drawn illustration of Corey Johnston, an artist living in San Diego, CA, USA.  With a strong focus on charming, idyllic images that entertain the heart and spirit, this shop endeavors to put lovely pictures on display in your home that you can be proud of!

Featuring unique calendars, greeting cards, and other items, the pieces seen here are all illustrated, printed individually in-house, hand-assembled at home with heart, and sent off to you by the artist himself. The images are painted digitally with specific intent: to brighten your day and create more beauty in your life. It's a labor of love.

All items are printed individually using an 8-color dye-based inkjet printer. All images were created using Procreate on an Apple iPad.

How it’s Made

All the digital stationery sold by Coreyartus Imagery is drawn by hand in Procreate on a12.9" M1 iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. Corey often streams the creation of his stationery on Twitch and MakerTube.

The yellow bird featured in this particular stationery set is a Turquoise-Browed Motmot. It can be found in Central America from southeast Mexico to Costa Rica.

Corey uses reference imagery from Unsplash under the Unsplash license and draws it painstakingly in the computer app. The livestream of drawing the motmot can be found watched here:  (1hr 33 min): https://makertube.net/w/6hgSKf3tNsMNdoDXwMyTJ7

The speedpaint video of what resulted from the livestream can be seen here (1min 47sec): https://makertube.net/w/8tZkB8B72cMfEnkJJ3DS41

After drawing the image for use as a greeting card, I change the ration and scale of the original file and erase out what doesn't work. Most of the bird images I made are very dark, to they take a lot of adapting to work as a piece of stationery. I also make additional "supplemental" pieces of paper to include in the pack that don't feature the bird itself but instead focus on nice background textures that can recede behind the written words.

I package it all up and make it available here for 10¢ a sheet.

You can read a blog post on my website for more information on the process I used to make these.

Shop Reviews (1)

I purchased a set of waterfall cards from Coreyartus Imagery, but I don’t plan to use them as greetings; I actually purchased them to use in my personal meditation practice. When I saw Corey’s waterfall scenes, I fell in love with their ability to transport me into a different world. They’re even more beautiful in person. I’m really pleased with this purchase as well as the great customer service and thoughtful packaging by Corey. Such a wonderful shop to buy from!
