If you’re a woman who likes to mix it up, then you’ve found a home with French Ostrich. This is where eclectic rules the day. Here, you can love—and wear—it all. My handcrafted jewelry ranges from simple to statement, and everything in between. You’ll find an unexpected mix of materials including sterling silver, solid pewter, brass and copper, hand-dyed silk, semi-precious stones, and cork. (I hope you find a creation you love!)
I’m Valerie Taloni, the one-woman-show behind French Ostrich. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to creating with my hands. Creating jewelry was a random hobby for me over the course of thirty years. Seven years ago, my jewelry worktable became my muse as I was ghostwriting nonfiction books—and it’s been my passion ever since. I want my jewelry to make you happy! That means offering high-quality, affordable, handcrafted pieces. I source components from select suppliers. For example, many of my metal components are manufactured and plated right here in the U.S.A. (with 0% nickel), by teams of generational craftsmen.

These bracelets are crafted with natural cork cord, imported from Portugal. The beads and findings are Zamak and are also imported from the EU.

SHIPPING
I pick up the cost of shipping for you, and usually ship the next business day; in some cases, it may be two days before your purchase leaves my Florida studio. (Please note: I ship within the USA only.) If your purchase requires customization, please allow extra time. Shipping is typically via USPS Ground Advantage and includes a tracking number and $100 insurance.
CARING FOR YOUR HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY
All of my items are handmade. Taking good care of your jewelry will ensure its longevity. Last on, first off should always be your rule: When getting dressed, put your jewelry on last. Likewise, the very first thing you should take off is your jewelry. Chemicals in beauty products can wreak havoc with your jewelry. In fact, chemicals of all kinds are harmful, and the same goes for water, whether it’s from your tap or the ocean. Please don’t shower or exercise while wearing your jewelry and remember to remove your jewelry when cleaning the house or doing dishes. Store your creations away from heat and direct light, preferably separately to avoid scratching.
RETURNS
I hope you’ll love your new jewelry! Kindly read the descriptions and review the photos, as I try to ensure they're as accurate as possible. If you have questions at all, please ask before purchasing. However, if you’re not happy with your purchase because you feel it wasn't described accurately, please notify me within two days of receiving it in the mail. You may then return the unworn creation to me by First Class, Ground Advantage or Priority Mail. (Return shipping is at your cost and you must provide a tracking number.) I must receive the piece within ten days of your notification. If the piece is unworn and still in new condition, I’ll be happy to refund your purchase price less the cost of shipping.

Sorry, but due to hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned.
