About this Product
This striking Judaica papercut brings an everlasting commandment from Deuteronomy 16:20 into visual form: Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof (צדק צדק תרדוף – Justice, justice shall you pursue). A powerful reminder of the Jewish pursuit of righteousness, this piece incorporates Israel’s national bird—the hoopoe—and the red anemone flower (כלנית), a symbol of remembrance and resilience.
Crafted from high-quality black cardstock, the design invites reflection and sparks conversation. Whether you're honoring a milestone for a lawyer, activist, student or teacher—or decorating a space dedicated to tradition—this handmade papercut is both beautiful and meaningful.

Meet the Maker
Hello and welcome! I’m Evelyn Goldman (she/her), the artist behind Romance and Mishegoss.
My art is all about storytelling, tradition, and joy. I create papercut art that weaves together Jewish heritage, personal meaning, and communal celebration. Every design starts with a hand-drawn sketch, which I digitize and cut with a machine—but the magic really happens in the finishing touches I do by hand. I use eco-friendly, archival materials to make art that is both rooted in tradition and alive in the present.
You can also find my pieces at the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience in New Orleans.

How it’s Made
Inspired by Jewish ethics and visual storytelling, this papercut was created to honor the enduring command to pursue justice. I designed the artwork to incorporate meaningful imagery from Israeli flora and fauna, and cut each piece from archival-quality black cardstock. The design is machine cut for precision, then hand-finished to bring out the detail and humanity behind every line. It’s made to inspire, provoke reflection, and proudly display the values we hold dear.
