The UnMinted Cowboy Hat Master Set includes everything you need to make coin cowboy hats from US Pennies, US Nickels, US Dimes, US Quarters & US Half Dollars (besides a torch for annealing and a press for pressing).
My sets are designed to protect the details of your coins, which is essential for making great looking cowboy hats!
Whether you’re new to coin jewelry or a seasoned pro, Coin Cowboy Hats sell well at shows, make great conversation starters, and are fun to make. However, they can be challenging – getting consistent results, getting a nice clean center dome, getting even brim folds with no scratching – this set makes it easy.
Start by annealing your non-ferrous coin (this makes them workable), then clean and polish to your liking.
This set includes the new doming pucks (NO DOMING BLOCK REQUIRED with this set) - use them along with the center washers and ball bearings for a sharp / clean centered dome - flatten the brim using the Delrin® Mini-Pucks, then use the folding puck on your press to fold the brim evenly and consistently without scratching your coins.
The Cowboy Hat Master Set is an UnMinted Coin Co. custom designed tool set, used for making cowboy hats from US Pennies, US Nickels, US Dimes, US Quarters, and US Half Dollars. (Any non-ferrous coin with the same dimensions would work.)
All sets have Delrin® inserts for long-lasting wear resistance, and provide even, consistent, parallel folds.

- 1 Cowboy Hat Crown Creaser (3D Printed with recessed Neodymium Magnet and Steel Insert)
- (2) 1-¼” x ½” Delrin® Mini-Pucks (1 with recessed Neodymium Magnet)
Please Note
- This product assumes you have a torch for annealing, and a 1T arbor press (or greater, 6T press recommended).
- Flattening the brim after doming is an important step - you'll get the best results, and helps prevent damage to the folding pucks.
- Coins shown not included.

Meet the Maker
Handcrafted coin rings & pendants began as a hobby and quickly became an obsession. From the punches and dies, to annealing and forging, to polishing and antiquing – the process drew me in.
There were a lot of things I like making that custom tools and jigs could help with, so I started designing and making jigs, and then decided to make them available to other makers.
Coins inherently have their own story – their own history. For generations, they’ve been carried, collected, passed down, exchanged and traveled.
Turning coins into jewelry allows us to become part of that story – they travel with us. Whether keepsakes, anniversaries, birthdays, or surprises, the story continues.
Early forms of currency were bits and shapes of silver, they were “UnMinted“ coins. Over the years, they became individualized to people and groups who developed and standardized them.
I like to think that, in a way, we’re going back to the roots.

How it’s Made
I designed these in Autodesk Inventor and Blender, and then 3d print them on my Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3d printers. I cut the Delrin® inserts from Delrin® rod stock before mounting them in the folding pucks.
