How It Works: When you purchase this listing, you’ll receive instructions on where to send the blanket of your choice. While receiving blankets are the most common for this upcycle, any blanket with a similar weave and size will work beautifully.

Meet the Maker
My name is Shay Power, and I am the owner and designer behind Things by Shay Inc. I’ve always had a passion for creating, but my journey with sewing began when I was expecting my first child. Determined to try cloth diapers, I decided to make them myself.
With the gift of my first sewing machine—a simple Brother model from my sweet mother-in-law—I created nearly 30 cloth diapers for my son. That humble machine sparked a lifelong love for sewing. Although I’ve since upgraded to five incredible machines, I’ll always cherish the one that started it all.
As my skills grew, so did my creativity. I began making clothing for my children, myself, and eventually, a wide range of items for others. My passion evolved into Things by Shay Inc., a shop offering handmade clothing, bags, and accessories for all ages.
Choosing a name took time; I wanted something that reflected the variety of items I create without limiting my vision. “Things by Shay” was the perfect fit—because I truly make all kinds of things.
Quality and safety are at the heart of my work. I have invested significant time into understanding and meeting Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requirements to ensure my products—especially those for children—are safe and compliant.
While handmade items carry the charm of individuality, each piece is crafted with love, patience, and the highest standards of ethics. I take pride in delivering products that are beautiful, functional, and made to last.

Next, I carefully cut each piece, sew them with precision, and apply the snaps for a perfect finish. It’s a time-intensive process, but the end result is a unique, functional keepsake you’ll treasure.
