Upcycled from a can! Handmade metal wall pocket. Decoupaged serene image with an added quote 'band' at the top; gold leaf metallic trim on top and bottom edge; Drilled holes with wire handle. Bead dangle at the bottom.

Hello!! Glad you are here ☺️ By day I am a graphic designer/supervisor of a design team for the local university and my therapy is when I can use my hands and make stuff. I kind of don't stick to one thing - I go where the inspo is...could be pattern, could be color, could be quirky (probably my fav) or good 'ol mood. In my daily life are two teenagers, a french bulldog who thinks he rules and a rescued cat who tolerates us all.

How it’s Made
I love making these! Upcycling cans into sweet, little metal decor is a lot of fun!
They start from standard cans - chickpeas for example, or larger cans used for crushed tomatoes. Once the can is free of any glue from label and cleaned, I flatten the bottom by hand and with a hammer. Most get primed, painted, decoupaged, detailed. I drill holes for wire or twine, some may have beads. I have also glued a small hook/hinge for hanging directly on the back....depends on the piece and what I am creating.
