Meet the Maker
Hi! I'm Amelia! I'm an artist, a Marine Corps Veteran, and a collector of skills. I'm never happier than when I'm up to my elbows in a new creative endeavor, listening to music, and enjoying some sunshine and good breezes. I love taking on creative challenges and get bored by repetitive tasks. Most of my professional career has been spent in tech theatre, primarily in the fields of scenic art and prop making. How it’s Made
I begin with recycled magazines, ads, and other paper media. After finding pieces that work together, I match them with background materials of scrap paper, fabric, and off cuts from other projects. I than assemble all pieces onto a backing that's cut to size for one of the vintage frames I source from local thrift shops. Once it's all together I choose a word that the piece invokes and call it finished!
