Pretty basket made from a very old handmade quilt. Unique circle design, possibly with feed sack material. Handles are raw edged quilt scraps. The inside of the basket and the top seam binding is the backside of the quilt. It was too pretty to cover up with another fabric and stabilizer, therefore, this basket is quite slouchy. I used batting to help fill it out for the photo. The bottom is saddle brown waxed canvas for stability. Basket is both machine and hand stitched.
This cutter quilt came from a friend of mine. Either her mother or her grandmother made it. It could no longer be used as a quilt due to damage and she felt it deserved a new life for someone else to enjoy. This is one of my favorite quilts and I'm excited to know that it will live on in the things that I've made from it.
Basket is 10" tall x 9-1/2" in diameter. Handles are 1-1/4" wide x 14" long. *Please note that all of my items are made with vintage and antique materials and may have stains, small rips, etc. The fabrics are old and show signs of wear, in most cases.

Meet the Maker
Hello! Welcome to my shop! My mom taught me to sew in the early 80's. I made a lot of my clothes back then. By the mid-90s, I realized I had a love of vintage and antique things. I found ways to use repurpose the "junk" as decor. In 2019, I started buying and reselling vintage finds and hand painted furniture. In July of 2024, I made a hard right turn and started collecting cutter quilts, old grain and feed sacks and other vintage material, then hauled out the sewing machine and went to work. I am a repurposer at heart. I love turning what is no longer serviceable as it is, into something pretty and useful.
I live in rural SE Ohio, part of the Appalachians. I love living almost in the middle of nowhere and being able to say, "I have to run to town". I enjoy hitting flea markets and estate sales with my husband, spending time in the garden and behind the camera, and hanging with my fur kids.
