How it’s Made

Our commitment to ethical and responsible harvesting practices places the needs of the bees first.  As a result, Cult of Bees products are crafted in limited, small batches and availability may vary.  Secure your piece of our best—place your order today.

What is Virgin Beeswax

Virgin beeswax is highly prized for its distinct, vibrant golden yellow hue and the comforting, sweet honey scent. Harvested directly from a hive's first cappings, Virgin Beeswax retains a purer, more delicate aroma and color compared to regular beeswax, which may come from older hives or have undergone processing. This unprocessed state preserves more of its natural properties, including beneficial pollen and propolis, offering superior quality for cosmetic and therapeutic applications.

Virgin beeswax's minimal processing ensures it maintains a higher level of purity and potentially stronger antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it especially valued in natural and organic product formulations. Harvested in conjunction with honey extraction, this beeswax is characterized by its freshness, having spent only a brief time within the hive.

Our Commitment to the Bees

All hive products are ethically and responsibly harvested from the Cult of Bees apiaries located in rural Central Maryland.

Ethical and Responsible harvesting stands at the heart of our Practice, ensuring that every product we offer respects nature and affirms our commitment to our bees. We ensure that our bees are provided with ample resources to thrive and harvest only excess hive products, leaving the rest. This approach allows us to offer small batch products that are not only pure and of the highest quality but also reflective of our deep respect for the intricate balance of nature.  Each item in our collection is a testament to this harmonious relationship and we promise our patrons that their choice supports a cycle of sustainability and mindful stewardship.
