About this Product

This expressive face mug looks like it just heard the juiciest bit of gossip at the church potluck! Hand-sculpted with exaggerated features, arched brows, and parted lips mid-gasp, this whimsical character brings plenty of Southern charm (and maybe a little sass) to your morning coffee. The handle, textured like a curled rope, adds a rustic touch, while the earthy glaze enhances every wrinkle and dimple of its storytelling face.

Perfect for those who love a good conversation starter—or just like their mugs with a bit of personality!

Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.

My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.

How it’s Made

This one-of-a-kind face mug is hand-built using slabs of stoneware clay. The facial features are sculpted by hand, giving each mug its own unique expression and personality. Texture tools and carving bring out the fine details—like the raised brows, pursed lips, and dimpled cheeks. Once dry, the mug is bisque fired, then glazed with earthy tones that accentuate the character’s wrinkles and expressions. A final glaze firing at 2300°F ensures it’s strong, functional, and ready for daily use. Dishwasher and microwave safe—because whimsy should never be high-maintenance!
