About this Product
Do you see it, skimming just over the pond? If you blink you'll miss it. It's a dragonfly, and look! There's a bunch more flitting around in a variety of colors. See, that one's blue and black, this one's shades of amber, and that one's... tiger's-eye?! Wait, these aren't dragonflies, they're earrings! Instead of hanging around the pond, these beautiful dragonflies would rather hang out on your ears. Give a pair a try today!
Relic Report: My family "adopted" an elderly neighbor many years ago. When she passed, she willed a box of costume jewelry to us. The red and gold acrylic beads on either side of the red-and-black dragonfly's wings came from one of her necklaces.

Angelic Relics
Meet the Maker
Beth Ann Borth, Owner & Lead Designer
My jewelry making journey started with making a “grandkids” birthstone necklace for my mom in ‘09. Then came angel birthstone necklaces for my sister and sisters-in-law. The odd bracelet here, a couple pairs of earrings there. In 2017 my younger son, Stephen, convinced me to try to make it a business. He jumped in making gemstone jewelry, and my older son, Andrew, followed weaving chainmail rings. And so Angelic Relics & Modern Treasures was born. The “relics” portion of our name comes from the fact we like to take broken jewelry, weird estate pieces, or things that were never meant to be jewelry, and turn them into unique new jewelry pieces. We had a good couple years run, but pandemic schedules and Andrew striking out on his own meant we had to shelve the business. Schedules have finally shifted back, so we redesigned our logo, dropped the last half of our name, and launched a new online store. Thanks for checking us out!

How it’s Made
Materials used: glass, tiger's-eye, goldstone, acrylic, silvertone components, antique brass components, copper components
What is tiger's-eye?
Tiger's-eye (AKA tiger's eye or tiger eye) is a type of quartz that forms in shades of blue, green, brown, or red. It occurs when quartz forms around parallel fibers of the mineral crocidolite (AKA blue asbestos), coloring it blue. Crocidolite gradually decomposes into yellowish limonite, taking tiger's-eye through green to golden-brown. From there it can be heated to turn limonite into reddish goethite. Whatever the mineral is, these fibrous inclusions catch the light as it moves across the surface of the stone, creating a natural cat's-eye effect. Tiger's-eye requires special handling while being polished, but finished stones are harmless.
What is goldstone?
Despite the name, goldstone has nothing to do with gold or real stone. Goldstone is actually a type of glass with microscopic metallic inclusions that create a sparkly effect. Copper is the most common inclusion, but it can also be made with cobalt (blue goldstone), manganese (purple goldstone), or chromium oxides (green goldstone).
