Meet the Maker
Sue is an artist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of SW Virginia, Salem to be exact. She has painted most of her life and hopes to be painting when she passes. She has dabbled in all the mediums and currently enjoys collage. Preferring to stay indoors, since the heat has gotten so bad, in the autumn or spring she still enjoys plein aire painting.
How it’s Made
I LOVE to make gelli prints, always practicing. When I get some prints I LUV, I start laying together to see if they fit, or work together. I also LUV the papers made in Thailand from the Kozo company. And that would be the white stringy thing you see.
I recently found out I also LUV to make TYVEK flowers and beads. Tyvek is the white sheeting you see new construction wrapped in, I assume it's insulation. Also used to make envelopes and such with.
I paint the stuff with acrylics then cut into strips, thin and wide. I twist it together and melt it with an iron or hot gun, like you use to remove house paint.
You tube has lots of videos about this stuff.
