Necklace made from wine stained oak, upcycled from a retired Napa Valley wine barrel.
Oak barrels play an extremely important role in wine making. They are often used for several years, aging wine to perfection. Once wine barrels are retired from their job of aging world class wine, they typically play out the rest of their days as planters, or are chopped up and discarded. I wanted to find a way to preserve their beauty, and create art that reflects their years of hard work.
This necklace is cut from a wine barrel by hand, and set in a Gold Vermeil or Sterling Silver frame. The front displays the deep burgundy colored oak, which is the result of years of holding and aging world famous Napa wine. The open back displays the natural color of the oak.

This one of a kind necklace is available in Sterling Silver or 14k Gold Vermeil.
18 inch 14k Gold filled or sterling silver chain. Hand made in Napa, California. Pendant is approximately 1 inch long, and 0.25 inches wide. The earrings are hung on 14k Gold filled or Sterling Silver earring hooks.
Because of the nature of this product, each piece is truly one of a kind and unique. Variations in color, size, and grain pattern will exist from piece to piece. Color can be different depending on the type of wine used, the grain of the wood and the time spent exposed to wine. Item pictured is extremely close to, but may not be, the exact item you receive.
