Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Judy, the heart and hands behind Sagey Mood Ceramics. My journey with pottery began in 2021 when I discovered the magic of working with clay. What started as a creative hobby quickly became my passion and a way to express myself. I invested in a wheel and kiln, diving headfirst into the world of clay. Through self-teaching, experimentation, and learning from the generosity of potters sharing their craft online, I refined my skills and techniques. From the endless possibilities of glaze combinations to the excitement of each kiln opening, I pour my heart into crafting unique, functional art that brings joy and connection to everyday life.
The clay I use is sourced primarily from the historic Irvine Formation in Madison County, Kentucky. Known for its earthy tones and natural versatility, this clay has been shaped by time and tradition, echoing the craftsmanship of early settlers and artisans. When you hold one of my creations, you’re holding a little piece of history—transformed through tradition and crafted with love.
My pottery is crafted using nontoxic, dinnerware-safe glazes. All of my pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe—except for those featuring gold lustre.
My love for crystals, energy cleansing, and the esoteric inspired the name Sageymoodceramics. These passions are infused into every piece I create, from the careful selection of materials to the thoughtful designs meant to radiate warmth and positivity.
I hope my work brings a little magic into your life, just as creating it has brought into mine.
How it’s Made
This piece is carefully wheel-thrown from durable stoneware clay in my home studio. Designed as a wine cup, it is a true celebration of color, texture, and movement.
The drip glaze cascades down the sides like flowing water, blending soft hues of pastel lavender, blush pink, and creamy white. Each drip is unique, capturing the natural beauty of molten glaze settling during the firing process.
After shaping, the cup undergoes a bisque firing for over 12 hours in my electric kiln. I then apply layers of dinnerware-safe commercial glazes to achieve its rich and unique coloration. Finally, the piece is glaze-fired for 9 hours at 2185°F (cone 6), enhancing its depth and vibrancy.

Processing Time
All orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays, regardless of when they are placed. Once shipped, delivery times will depend on the shipping provider. You will receive a tracking number to monitor your package’s journey.

Lost or Stolen Packages: Sagey Mood Ceramics is not responsible for packages lost or stolen after they are shipped. If an issue arises, please contact the shipping provider (e.g., USPS) directly to resolve the matter. I’m happy to assist by providing shipping details and documentation.
Returns and Refunds
Refunds: Refunds are offered only if an item arrives damaged. Replacement is not possible since each piece is unique. To request a refund:

Provide photos of the damaged item, packaging materials, and box damage for verification.
Returns for Unwanted Items: If you don’t love your purchase, you can return it:

Care Instructions
Most pieces are dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
Pieces with gold luster are not microwave safe. Other stoneware pieces are generally microwave safe, but avoid sudden temperature changes (thermal shock) to prevent cracking. Always allow pottery to adjust to room temperature before adding hot or cold liquids.
Caution When Using Hot Beverages: Pottery retains heat and can become very hot when used with hot beverages. Please handle with care to avoid burning your hands or accidental drops.
If a piece develops a crack due to thermal shock or accidental damage, it is no longer safe to use. Cracks may cause leakage or create sharp surfaces, and the piece should be retired from functional use.

Sageymoodceramics is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses caused by the use or misuse of pottery items. Please follow the provided care instructions to ensure safe use. Customers assume all responsibility for handling and using pottery products safely. If a piece is damaged, cracked, or shows signs of wear, discontinue use immediately to prevent potential injury or property damage.
