This adjustable wooden book stand makes a great item to have in the kitchen to hold your cookbook, or in the office to hold a reference book, bible or i-Pad. It could also be used in your living room to display your favorite coffee table book or photo album. I am confident that you can find many places in your home to use this beautiful wood item.
The back of this book stand is 15 1/2 inches wide - 11 inches tall and it has a 1 1/4 inch wood ledge to hold your book on. This book stand is handcrafted from air-dried walnut wood and it has a pull-out wedge that holds the book stand at your desired angle. The approximate adjustable angles are: 72 degrees, 59 degrees and 45 degrees. Two sets of brass hinges support the unit and when this book stand is not in use, it can be folded flat for easy storage. This book stand has satin lacquer applied to it, which is then hand rubbed to a smooth finish. Please see all of the pictures attached to this description before you order this item. Meet the Maker
I have worked with wood most of my life as a hobby, but now that I am semi-retired, I enjoy working with wood in my shop more often, and I want to make things that people can use in their homes. Each piece is lovingly made by hand, and every step is done with my hands guiding each tool I use. Our items are made using hardwoods such as walnut, oak, maple and mahogany and a satin lacquer finish is used on our non-food use items. Our items that are for food use have had a food grade finish applied to them so that they are safe to serve food on or with. They are then hand rubbed to a smooth satin finish. Some of our most popular items are the Wooden Book Stand; our Wooden Trivet for placing hot pots and plates on, and our Wooden Honey Dipper which is hand turned on my lathe. Our items have gone out to many people all across the USA, and I know that you will be pleased with them just as others have stated in their reviews. How it’s Made
This book stand is made from air dried black walnut with hand cut grooves for the hinges. The back has a cut out to store the adjustable leg for the various angles of view. It is sanded to a smooth finish and then lacquer is applied and then hand rubbed to a silky finish. It is truly a custom piece.
