About this Product

Handmade wooden frames for stained glass panels for those who want wooden frames but lack the necessary tools to make their own. All you need to assemble the frame is wood glue and a belt clamp.

Raw wood frame pieces only. Assembly required. Hardware not included. Photos 4-7 are examples of wooden frames I have made for my stained glass art.

These handmade frames are perfect for finishing your stained glass panels. Each frame piece has a 1/4in wide channel that is 1/2in deep, with mitered corners. Keep in mind that 1/2in of each side of your panel will be covered by the frame.

Available in multiple sizes as well as custom sizes. If you would like a custom size frame I need precise measurements of the panel you'd like framed. Frames are made with an extra 1/4in of leeway but if the panel is more than 1/4in bigger than the measurements the frame will not fit.

The sizes represent the inner dimensions of the frames. For example, the 6x6in frame fits a 6x6in panel, but once assembled, the outer dimensions of the frame are closer to 7.25in.

For assembly, I use Titebond II wood glue on each corner and then clamp the frame together around the panel using a belt clamp. You can get belt clamps from Harbor Freight for around $5.00 or online for $13. Unless you custom order a larger frame, the wood glue will be strong enough to hold everything together securely once it fully dries. I assembled a test frame with only wood glue and used all of my strength to try to pull it apart and it does not budge.

I like to use a little dollop of clear silicone caulk inside the channels of each frame piece when assembling to provide some extra cushioning, but this step is not required.

The frame has to be assembled around the glass panel, so if you want to stain or oil the wood it is best to do this prior to assembly.

If you are wanting to hang your framed panel there are countless hardware options you can get. I mostly use eyelets or D rings with chain or hanging wire. If you are wanting to hang on a wall, sawtooth hangers are another good option. Predrilling any screw holes will help prevent the wood from splitting.

All orders are carefully packaged to ensure safe arrival.

Meet the Maker

My name is Madilyn, I am 25 and have been creating stained glass since December 2020. I now make glass art full time and have never been happier.

I first discovered stained glass when I came across glass artists online and was instantly in love with the process, but it didn't occur to me that I could actually do it too. A few days before Christmas I mention to my mom how amazing I thought these glass artists were, and she surprised me Christmas morning with most everything I needed to get started and I have been obsessed ever since.

On the rare occasion I am not doing glass art, I enjoy spending time in nature with my boyfriend and my dog. I get a lot of inspiration from nature and the peace and quite is a great way to reset my brain.
