Hand carved wooden owl statue by Charles A Guthrie.
Been carving more wooden sculpture pieces from cedar and I'm really enjoying the results. This little owl stands about 9 inches tall and is about 4 inches wide; Made from cedar wood.
Details:
Carved painted eyes with black acrylic paint
Torched the wood for a neat grain enhancing effect as well as smoothing the surface a bit.
The carving weighs 21 oz; so it's lightweight, so it would be great on a bookshelf.
Has a clear coat, but it's a matte finish.

Meet the Maker
Hi, I'm Charles and I am a self-taught artist-painter-maker. I live with my sweet wife here in rural Northern Arkansas. Most of my inspiration is drawn from nature, as well as the strange and mysterious. I enjoy exploring new styles when creating interesting landscapes, patterns, unusual creatures; many times with splashes of humor. In addition to acrylic painting, I also create wood carvings, wood burning and building other crafts.
How it’s Made
Wood owl sculpture is carved by hand. Once carving was completed a torch was used to burn it which creates a smoother finish and darkens the grain. Finally I buffed it with a buffing wheel and clear-coated the entire piece.

Shipping and Handling - Shipped by 4 full business days from order completion.
example: If ordered on a Monday, the item should be shipped no later than Thursday OR if ordered on Friday, the item would be shipped no later than Wednesday.
Federal holidays will not be counted as business days; the same as Saturday and Sunday
