About this Product

Are you searching for sustainable and healthy clothing options for your children, but struggling to keep your wallet in check? Here is something to help you out!

Save Your Money

We all know children grow like weeds. It seems like every time I turn around, my kids are needing the next size of clothing! These pants are designed to be there for you even when they are ready to jump into the next size. The wide waistband allows you to fold down, (decreasing the rise) when they are littler. Similarly the cuffs on the legs, are designed to fold and grow with your kido. You can rest easy for a while, knowing these pants will be able to stay in their wardrobe for a while!

These pants fit like joggers when your child is at the lower end of the size, needing the cuffs rolled. When a child reaches the end of the size, they fit more like leggings.

Peace of Mind

Not only are these Wool pants soft and comfortable to wear, they also help regulate body temperature. Wool fibers allow the body to breathe, and release heat during the summer, but also insulate the body to keep you warm during the winter. Wearing wool on your kiddo will give you peace of mind knowing they aren't too hot or too cold.

Less Laundry

We can all use a little break from laundry duty! Wool fibers have their own cleaning mechanisms that allow you to wear them longer between washes. No need to wash unless they are visibly dirty or have a smell. That's what I call a win!

-Made from 100% Merino Wool Rib Knit Fabric (225 GSM)

-Soft and stretchy for your little ones

-Designed to grow with your child across multiple sizes, fitting like joggers at first and leggings at the end.

Homespun by Ruth

Meet the Maker

Hi! I'm Ruth.

A young mom, wife, entrepreneur, and Jesus lover tucked back into a quiet corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

As a child, my mom gave me free reign of her sewing machines. Through many broken needles, jammed threads, and many hours with a seam ripper, she quietly passed on her love of sewing to me. I made my first dress all by myself by the time I was 12.

I quickly realized that I did not enjoy fooling with the "extras" on garments. They simply took too much time. I preferred minimal and basic styles in the first place. However, I did find it incredibly fulfilling to find uses for the small fabric scraps that were often thrown away. There was a sense of accomplishment to watch a quilt come together under my needle- all from something that otherwise would have been wasted.

Fast forward until now, I've been discovering the detriments fast fashion has brought to our world. Not only has it been hard on the earth, but it's been a slave master to so many people.

The more I started researching and the more I learned, the more I wanted to help break this dreaded cycle.

This inspired me to find ways to upcycle and repurpose as much as I could. I discovered that using quality products over and over was so much better then buying cheap items that wore out after a few months of use. Learning to reduce waste as well as being content with the items I have, was starting to open up a new way of living.

Finding natural fiber fabrics was a part of this journey that I did not see coming. I quickly saw the benefits and the lack of availability within the natural fiber world.

Realizing I could use the talent God (and my mom!) had blessed me with, to help support my family and benefit the world around me, Homespun by Ruth was born.

January 1, 2021 was our first official opening day. I was simply blown away with the interest and support that showed up on my Facebook page! That support has continued to this day, and I'm forever grateful!

Come join me on this journey or reusing, repurposing, and creating a more sustainable future.
