Meet the Maker
I'm Julie Vesely. My "Altar Ego" is the part of me that longs to connect ~ to my Inner Self, to Nature, and to Others. "Earth Prayers" reflect and hold the energy of my need to make order from disorder, my love of color and beauty, and my desire to share myself and what I see with others.
I create Earth Prayers from bits of nature that I collect on meditative walks in my city, on nearby mountain hikes, on vacation in the Pacific Northwest, and in the Southwest! It is a practice of attention, awe, and non-attachment.
I hope Earth Prayers will inspire connection and a desire to care for our Mother Earth. Perhaps you will create your own Earth Prayers! And I hope you'll love them as I do!
How it’s Made
The Great Salt Lake is in peril. Global warming and people's inability to act in their own best interests until it's (possibly) too late has had me visiting our diminishing lake over the past couple of years. This art piece was created after a two hour drive to the Spiral Jetty. I hope you'll feel the energy of this beautiful place in it, as I do.
