About this Product

Exquisite and rare Japanese single-bevel, 240mm, Yanagiba knife. a serious must-have for any collector of Japanese knives, knife enthusiast, or chef! The blade is flat, slightly concave on one side, with the edge grind on the other (approximately 10-12 degrees). Since the edge grind is only on one side, the blade is mind-bogglingly sharp, and is calibrated for right hand users. The Saya (sheath) is hand-craved Rosewood with a brass retaining pin. Both the handle and sheath were lovingly hand crafted in our small Austin, TX woodworking shop. Details: - 240mm Yanagiba, Aogami #2 steel blade, HRC 65/66, right hand single bevel grind (~10-12 degrees). - Ebony handle w/ pearlescent resin bolster and brass spacer. - Saya (sheath) - Bolivian Rosewood with brass retaining pin.

ABOUT US:

We're a husband and wife team living and creating in Austin, Texas. In short, we love making things… all kinds of things, pretty much all the time. When we’re not working in the studio you can find us seeking out the best cup of coffee in town, walking our dogs along the river, hanging out with our chickens, or planning our next adventure.

Both of us are Montana natives from the (previously small) town of Bozeman, MT. We met in 2010 while working in retail, and bonded over our shared love of pop-punk/emo music of the early 2000s. Three states, three dogs, four apartments, one house, and six chickens later we find ourselves firmly planted in Austin, Texas. We were drawn to this city for its amazing creative community, live music, and affinity for tacos. We operate our woodworking shop and print studio out of our home on the East Side.

Absolutely LOVE the rainbow arch board. The only thing I regret is not buying a bigger size. The cherry wood is beautiful and the craftsmanship is perfect.
