What’s the difference between Handmade vs Mass-Produced Wallets & Money Clips?

When you’re looking for a wallet or money clip, there’s a big difference between handcrafted and mass-produced. Handmade wallets and money clips may take longer to produce as all the materials must be hand selected and shaped, but the result is an artisan piece crafted especially for you. With handcrafted pieces, you are sure to get something unique, where each wallet or money clip will have slight variations that make it stand out from the crowd. Mass-produced products may usually provide more uniformity if that's what you're after, but nothing beats something with handcrafted detail put into each item.

What is the History of Wallets & Money Clips?

Wallets and money clips have a long and interesting history! They have been handcrafted to carry both coins, paper money, and cards since ancient times. Many early wallets were even made out of leather that was handstitched by an artisan. In the 19th century, wallet manufacturers started using machines which allowed them to produce wallets in mass quantities; but that didn’t stop people from handcrafting unique items. Today you can still find handcrafted wallets and money clips made out of various materials such as leather, cloth or vegan fabric while still maintaining the high quality expected from an artisan product. From its origins in craftsmanship until now, this accessory still continues to be functional and fashionable as part of everyday life.
