This primitive style hand embroidered ornament will be custom made and personalized for the person you love. The name will be hand embroidered in red dmc floss and the wreath surrounding the name will be hand drawn and hand embroidered in brown dmc floss with green stem stitches and red French knots on tea-dyed muslin. The maroon satin ribbon is made long enough to hang on a doorknob or a country cupboard long after Christmas is over. The heart measures 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches and is filled with polyester fiberfill. The backing of the heart is a homespun checked fabric coordinated to the embroidery, pictured here in red. All of my work was handmade in a smoke free home in Upstate NY. This lovely heart would look beautiful in an entryway and would make a special small gift for anybody. It is a wonderful first Christmas gift or housewarming gift and a year can be added too. It’s neutral color palate makes it available for year round display in any rustic home. My wreath ornaments have always been one of my favorite designs for both myself and those who have bought them, for that reason I have decided to personalize them. Meet the Maker
Welcome to my Go Imagine Shop. I am a hand embroidery artist/fiber artist. I have been hand embroidering almost all of my life since my grandmother taught me when I was five years old. I started selling my work in brick and mortar stores and craft fairs for 30 years ago. I make hand embroidered pillows and ornaments which I hand draw and hand embroider. Because I hand draw all my embroidery work all of my pieces are one of a kind. Twenty years ago I moved to upstate NY and found my inner artist. I belong to an artist coop I’ve done craft fair and have had my work in several stores, I have been featured in several group shows and have had my work exhibited in a local library. I opened an Etsy shop 2012.
All of my work is hand drawn and hand embroidered. I love color and texture organically using them to make unique designs. I start with simple designs and then let my needles do the work for me. It is not unusual for them to take on a life of their own while I am working on them. My favorite pieces are my Tangled stitch designs where I find a color and then I just look for the perfect place to add it. They are always colorful and textured and I get lost in them. I make custom pillows and ornaments, and framed pieces using traditional and primitive stitching. I am known for my ornaments in which I use lots of my favorite stitches the French knot. People buy them and give them as gifts year after year because the majority of them are made for year round display. I also do custom orders and finish projects that are left undone by those who have passed on and are unable to finish that cherished heirloom. How it’s Made
I use a heart template. I hand draw the name and then add the vines surrounding the name. I hand embroider these primitive hearts using red DMC embroidery floss, then I use brown for the vines, green for the leaves and red for the lovely French knot berries. I then sew them together with a coordinating piece of fabric, a coordinating ribbon and stuff them with polyester fiberfill. All of my hearts are hand drawn and hand embroidered in a smoke free home in upstate NY. Please allow 7 to 14 days for custom orders.
