This one of a kind ornament was hand drawn and hand embroidered on tea dyed muslin. The heart was embroidered using dmc embroidery floss and features a red house with a gray cat and two trees. The heart also feature lovely French knots which mimic snow flakes. The heart measures 3.5 by 3.5 inches and was made with a hangable ribbon long enough to hang from a door knob or a country cabinet. Although it would also look lovely on a Christmas tree it would make a wonderful winter housewarming gift or secret Santa. The pillow has a red checked backing and a red satin ribbon for hanging. All of my ornaments/pillows are hand drawn and hand embroidered making each one special. Meet the Maker
Welcome to my Go Imagine Shop. I am a hand embroidery artist/fiber artist. I have been hand embroidering almost all of my life since my grandmother taught me when I was five years old. I started selling my work in brick and mortar stores and craft fairs for 30 years ago. I make hand embroidered pillows and ornaments which I hand draw and hand embroider. Because I hand draw all my embroidery work all of my pieces are one of a kind. Twenty years ago I moved to upstate NY and found my inner artist. I belong to an artist coop I’ve done craft fair and have had my work in several stores, I have been featured in several group shows and have had my work exhibited in a local library. I opened an Etsy shop 2012.
All of my work is hand drawn and hand embroidered. I love color and texture organically using them to make unique designs. I start with simple designs and then let my needles do the work for me. It is not unusual for them to take on a life of their own while I am working on them. My favorite pieces are my Tangled stitch designs where I find a color and then I just look for the perfect place to add it. They are always colorful and textured and I get lost in them. I make custom pillows and ornaments, and framed pieces using traditional and primitive stitching. I am known for my ornaments in which I use lots of my favorite stitches the French knot. People buy them and give them as gifts year after year because the majority of them are made for year round display. I also do custom orders and finish projects that are left undone by those who have passed on and are unable to finish that cherished heirloom. This ornament was hand drawn and hand embroidered. It was hand embroidered using red DMC floss for the house, it features a gray kitten and 2 pine trees. As it is hand drawn you can pick other options and other colors. If you order a custom house ornament or winter scene please allow 7 to 14 days for processing. my ornaments are hand drawn and hand embroidered using dmc floss on tea stained muslin(can be ordered on natural muslin or cotton that is not tea stained)they are stuffed with polyester fiberfill and made in a smoke free home.
