| This time the focal point in my piece is the clasp. This is a sterling silver clasp that is set with a cute little pearl. The clasp is %100 functional as it is beautiful. Its surround by freshwater pearls in different cuts and sizes as well as sterling silver and glass beads. I used a basic but beautiful twisted technique to give this its beachy look. The clasp is intended to be worn on the side but can be worn in the back or front. And yes, you could wear this in the ocean if you really wanted. The sting this is on is called ‘Softflex’, this is a multiple stainless-steel wire covered in nylon. This particular necklace utilizes their ‘medium’ strength string, a 26-pound test. I often use this weight when designing, but I also make good use of their heavy weight sting that supports my bolder designs at 40-pound test. I have been using softflex for over 20 years. I guarantee all of the work I sell, right down to stretch bracelets. I can design and plan wonderfully, but if it's not strung on the best that’s asking for trouble. Many customers of mine that have been with me for years still may not remember my business name, but they know and trust me, I highly value that.
