About this Product
Hand dyed Kona cotton in a 6 step gradient in the hue of dark amethyst or red violet. The high texture has extensive tonal variation similar to a batik.
The base cloth for this series is a premium weight Robert Kaufman Kona cotton, a medium weight cotton suitable for quilting and home decor projects. This bundle is dyed with my custom mix of Procion MX dyes for a rich color which is machine washable.
Bundle Options
Each fabric bundle contains six shades of the gradient as shown. Select from an array of gradient bundles - fat quarters, half yards, or full yards. Plus, there's the option to include an additional yard of the deepest shade for binding or backing. Measurements are typically generous.
- Fat quarter bundle: approx 18"x21", 6 pieces total
- Half yard bundle: approx 18"x43", 6 pieces total
- Full yard bundle: approx 36"x43", 66pieces total
- 6FQ + 1 yard darkest: the 6 piece fat quarter bundle PLUS one yard of the darkest shade for binding or backing
More Info
The fabric is custom dyed in small batches. Part of the beauty of hand dyed fabric is that each piece is slightly different in texture. The pictures shown are examples.
I measure and weigh carefully, but multiple factors influence hand-dying. If you expect to need larger amounts of fabric, please let me know and I will create more in one batch to maintain absolute consistency of color. I can expand the gradient to 7 or possibly 8 if you need lighter or darker shades. I can also reduce the texture if you desire a smoother color to correlate with this series. You could order two sets - one with relatively smooth color and one with the texture as illustrated in the images. Feel free to message me with questions. I am happy to hear from you.
Care instructions
This fabric has been washed multiple times in very hot water and then steam ironed against white cotton to ensure no bleeding occurs. The fabric can be washed in warm or cold water.

I believe that the work you perform every day in the home is important and typically drastically unappreciated when really it is fundamental. So I am adamant that quilts and place mats, table runners and dish towels.....they are art. Or you can make them so. For there is an art to living life.
I worked for years in a technical field but missed the fine arts. Color and fabric, animals and gardening and nature - these are what make life worth living for me. I live with my husband, four cats and a dog in a small town in Minnesota. We have multiple gardens which are never weed-free, but productive nonetheless.

Returns
I do accept returns within 30 days unless otherwise indicated. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and any loss in value if an item isn't returned in original condition. Custom orders are not eligible for returns.
