About this Product

This bird feeder tower has 10 feeding holes, with perches for each, that is sure to attract a crowd of your feathered friends.
Handcrafted from cedar and sanded to a smooth finish with rounded corners, this tower measures 15" tall and is 4" x 4" square. The roof lifts off so you can add your favorite bird seed. It should easily hold 1-2 lbs of seed. The bottom is held in with screws (not glued) so that it can be removed for periodic cleaning. Two of the sides have 3 holes each and the other two sides each have 2 holes. Each hole is 1" in diameter. The perches are 3/8" and stick out 1-3/4" for easy access for many types of birds.

Being made of cedar, which is naturally bug and rot resistant, this feeder will last for many years to come. Even the perches are made of oak, which will not only hold up to the elements but also the abuse of little bird feet and beaks.

The hanging wire is braided aluminum with a plastic coating that is capable of holding up to 110 lbs (according to the mfg). The eyelets are made of stainless steel, which means they will never rust.

The cedar is left unprotected so that you can decide whether to add some sort of finish or not. Unfinished, the cedar will grey over time, just as any wood will do. If you decide to add your own finish, please use one that is safe for the birds. I do not have any recommendations at this time.

Note: there have been some modifications made to this feeder since the photographs were taken. A little "product research" revealed that it needed larger and longer perches. The video with all the birds trying to get at the feeder is with the larger/longer perches. It made a huge difference. The bottom of the feeder is also recessed to bring it up closer to the bottom holes which will eliminate wasted seed inside. The bottom will also come with an eye screw to make it easier to pull it out for cleaning. It can also be used to hang a decoration from.

Meet the Maker

Greetings. Thanks for stopping by. My name is Rob and I am the proprietor of Awl That Wood Crafts.

I've been a tinkerer and maker for many years. I just never thought of it as something I could get in to as a hobby or side business. First, I made an enclosure for our oldest daughter's bearded dragon. That's when it hit me. Next, I built a coffin-shaped book case for our youngest daughter. Next was a farmhouse-style end table. I was hooked.

For Halloween one year, I made some wooden jack o' lanterns with the intention of trying to sell them. Once the word was out, I couldn't make them fast enough. With that success, I started making Christmas crafts. They didn't sell as well as the Jack o' lanterns but it was enough to convince me that I needed to expand on this idea. With that, Awl That Wood Crafts was born.

I started an Etsy shop back in April 2023. My initial list of products were simple items, e.g. bottle openers, candle holders, but then I added a couple of bird feeders and a squirrel feeder. That's what started the ball rolling.

My main focus is bird feeders and squirrel feeders. I am always working on new ideas to keep things fresh and give potential buyers more choices. Come back often to see what's new.

Thank you
