| ****Update***** This won Best in Show at The Souderton Art Jam in September!!!! Hello There, This piece is an inspiration from a vintage piece I have that looks nothing like it. (Call it a non-matching match) I have about 7 hours in this. I did chronicle the making of this piece. We start out as a few faceted glass pieces twisted onto a gold filled chain. Almost all of the gold on this is a 14K gold filled. Some of the accents are a 18K gold vermeil. The clasp in particular is a heavy vermeil. Speaking of heavy, the piece does have weight, but is not uncomfortable. We are a very well balanced asymmetrical necklace! This necklace measures 17 1/2 inches long. It is easy to clasp and has much detail coming and going. (As you can see from picture 5) Everything stone is amethyst or moonstone. The moonstone is a faceted briolette. I have some vintage stones mixed in along side some newly purchased. Every dangle is 'twisted' around itself onto its main/mother chain. As in, this is not going to get caught on something and fall apart. This is made to last! You can hold the entire necklace in the air by any one single drop. I got my start in jewelry making as a restoration artist and studied how things fell apart/wore out over the years. I have a few approaches to common problems with bead work that ensures happy customers. I'm in my 20th year in business but I am always fine tuning. |
