The intrique of a barrel has many facets including the curvature of the wood to the hoops that hold them together. Here at Whiskey, Wine and Design, we love to create artisitc items from vintage barrels that retain the original barrel authenticity.
Our Bourbon Barrel Novelty Signs have clever quotes deeply lasered into an authentic Kentucky whiskey barrel stave and to capture the barrel allure even further, we add segments of the barrel hoop to each side of the sign. The barrel hoops are adorned with our SIGNATURE BLACKSMITH BOLTS delivering a bit of that rustic or perhaps even medieval feel of barrels made so long ago.
Don't fret, folks often ask us about CUSTOM SIGNS and we love blending your creativity into our bourbon barrel signs! When ordering, choose CUSTOM SIGN and in the PERSONALIZATION section, describe what you would like your custom sign to say. Unless otherwise mentioned, we will utilize what we call our "WHISKEY FONT" on custom signs. However, if you see a font on a sign that we sell that you like, please also describe that in the personalization.

Meet the Maker
My name is Karen and along with the love of my life Tom, we are Whiskey, Wine and Design. It all began on a romantic weekend and a vineyard visit. Bought the barrel. Made a barrel bar. Family wanted them. Friends wanted them. And here we are 5 years later with our corporate jobs in the rearview mirror and barrel decor our daily passion!
Our workshop is in Georgia. Our barrel source is a blend of bourbon barrels from Kentucky and whiskey barrels from Tennessee. We travel to many craft shows around the SE USA so please come visit us in person. But in lieu of that, enjoy reviewing our selection of handmade barrel decor items for your home! How it’s Made
Hopefully Karen and I do a masterful job of making our products look simple and easy! Behind the scenes though, we take quite a few creative steps to make these novelty signs look so incredibly cool and unique.
First and foremost, the wood is authentic American Oak utilized to make a Jack Daniels barrel from Lynchburg, TN. We are not a registered Jack Daniels vendor, but we do supply all of our barrels that we make home decor from from JD.
The most important step in creating these barrels is not skimping on the fine tuning efforts. Every corner is hand sanded and rounded. Our expert eyes sand each stave to highlight the staves unique coloring from the distillery. And finally, we laser the quote deep into the oak to look incredible.
