Original Painting 4x4” whimsical cowboy on ampersand artist wood panel with gouache watercolors and fused with encaustic wax. This is framed in an 5x5” frame and ready to hang. My encaustic framed pieces are glued to frame, wired in back and do not have glass. This piece is titled Horse Back.

My name is Kelly Brown. I live in Central Minnesota in a smaller town surrounded by farmlands, prairies and wetlands that provide an abundance of inspiration.
I am a self taught artist -painter and novice sculptor.

How it’s Made
The birchwood cradled panel is prepped with a gesso primer, designed and painted with artist professional grade gouache, watercolor, ink and or oil paints and fused Melted-with layers of encaustic wax medium and or pigments which results in a unique depth and hardened surface that can be polished with a soft cloth. If not framed my Encaustic boards are painted on the sides and are wired and ready to hang. All works are original artworks.
