About this Product

With this easy PDF crochet pattern, you can create a fast, fun and flattering slouchy for men, women and teens. The fishnet pattern gives glimpses of your beautiful hair (or your beautiful bald -- or shaved -- head).

This slouchy is crocheted with a big hook, creating a very stretchy hat, sized for Extra Small to Large. An Extra Large size is provided for people with bigger heads, a lot of hair, or who prefer a looser fit, and-or are using inelastic yarns.

Worked in the round, The Fishnet Slouchy XS to L uses about 97 yd./89 m, and the XL size uses about 106 yd./97 m of chunky-weight (#5 Bulky) yarn.

Yarn should have a recommended gauge between 8 to 10 sc = 4 in./10 cm. A yarn mix of two or more yarns held together to achieve the equivalent of a chunky-weight yarn also works wonderfully for this design.

WHAT YOU GET:
A 3-page PDF pattern that also provides links to my website -- www.hatsbyelvee.com -- for technique tutorials and stitch definitions for new crocheters. Pattern is written -- no charts -- and uses American crochet terms.

OCTOBER SALE: Save 25 percent on stylish hat patterns through the end of October, and get a jump on your holiday gift making!

The Chunky Guy Beanie, pictured here, is my best-selling pattern, with hundreds sold to makers from around the world.  The pattern exemplifies what I love most about crochet and knitting: An easy pattern can produce a classic look as well as an enjoyable crafting experience.

Almost all of my patterns use simple, basic stitches.  I occasionally venture into intermediate territory -- but only if the end result is worth the extra effort.

One of my favorite activities is to round up a few balls of yarn and experiment with stitches and shapes and color combinations.  It's an adventure to find out what kind of hat the yarn wants to be.  A sassy, lacy Juliet cap for summer?  A rugged, ribbed topper for frigid days?  A snazzy fedora that evokes vintage glamour?

I really enjoy doing my small part in bringing warmth and beauty into the world, one hat at a time.  My wish is that you enjoy making/wearing/gifting hats from my patterns as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Happy crocheting/knitting!
