About this Product

Perfect for when you're short on space (or money). In addition to the 3 necklace channels, it has 4 bracelet circles, sized at 7, 8, 9, and 10 inches and marked in 1/4" increments. It also has 7 variously sized pockets for beads and findings, and two straight, ruler-marked channels for making longer bracelets, anklets, earrings, or whatnot. Yes, you CAN have it all!

AT A GLANCE:

  •  Size is 13" Wide x 15" Tall x 3/4" Thick.
  •  It weighs over 3 pounds. No more bead hunting on your hands and knees after a slight bump!
  •  Beautiful, Durable, High Contrast Black on Matte White (Melamine), Laser-Etched Numbers and Graphics.
  •  Forest Friendly Sustainable Wood. No new trees cut.
  •  Our V-Shaped channels allow for self-centering and easy stringing of round beads up to 5/8".

  •  The 3rd, inner channel, also looped, allows a strand up to 27".
  •  There's a 2" wide x 2-3/4" tall Pendant Lay at the bottom!
  •  4 rings of 7, 8, 9 and 10 inches, marked in 1/4" increments, for memory wire, stretchy, or conventional bracelets.
  •  Includes our Virtual Bracelet Mandrel™ for error-free bracelet sizing the first time!
  •  7 variously sized, 1/2" deep, Neutral Colored Bead Pockets won't distract from your design pallet.
  •  2 straight channels, 10-1/2" long, on either side for laying out more bracelets or earrings.
  •  Measurements in both Imperial and Metric.
  •  Rounded Edges Everywhere.

DESCRIPTION:

FOR NECKLACES:

Our unique board has added width below the zero center point to allow your focal to lay on the same plane as the rest of your project.  It is also much larger and heavier than those cheap, commercially available ones, so you’ll lessen the chance of scattering all of your hard work if you bump the table, or the cat jumps into your lap!  And it has more and larger pockets for organizing beads than those tiny trays have.  Our edges are nicely rounded everywhere, too, including the inside bottoms of the pockets, which makes it easy to get seed beads out of the corners.

FOR BRACELETS:

Make accurate bracelets or anklets using our included, foolproof Virtual Bracelet Mandrel™. Stop worrying and let your imagination fly with this infinitely variable system! With just this one jewelry tray, you can design with memory wire, stretchy materials, leather, silk, or any conventional beading wires or chain of any size from 4" to 10", using the rings, or much longer using the other channels. (See the Sizing Note, below.) As with every wood beading board we make, the V-shaped bead channels automatically align your round beads along their centers, showing you exactly what the finished piece will look like when strung. There's no need to try to keep your beads snugged up around a central column/post to ensure a good fit. This V-shape also eliminates the bead size constraints of fixed-width U-channels. You'll really appreciate this if you use chunky beads. And each Design Ring is circumscribed along its entire length, providing a handy visual check to ensure accurate, mass duplication for a production run. Design your bracelet once, then simply copy what you've done to another ring, of equal or greater size, or to any of the other channels. :-)

At long last, a math-based, bracelet design method with unparalleled accuracy! Unlike necklaces, which are typically sized by length, bracelets are (or should be) sized relative to a wrist's circumference, i.e., the distance around it. But you absolutely cannot accurately size a bracelet without either having a mandrel for every possible size, or without taking the beads' sizes into consideration. But who's going to do all of that math?

We did! In addition to the board itself, you'll receive our Virtual Bracelet Mandrel™, a sizing chart designed to work exclusively with our ring-based Bracelet Boards to minimize the frustration of trying to guess the finished size of your bracelets. Simply locate the largest bead size which makes up the majority of your design, anywhere from 1.5 mm to 25 mm, and follow that across to the desired wrist size column. The chart will then tell you which Design Ring # to use and how long your wire will be. Eliminate the guesswork, and get it as close as possible the first time!

Think of each Bracelet Design Ring as a clock face, with the Ring's name at noon. Start at the top, and work clockwise until you reach the length indicated on the chart. Then add a bit for comfort and/or clasp. Easy!

BRACELET SIZING NOTE: The Mandrel is designed to work with the rings. If you use any of the other channels, the chart may get you into the ballpark, but don't snip the wire until you've first tested for fit, else the claps/ends may pop off once you wrap it around the wrist/ankle.

By the way, if you need more pockets for beads, see our 40004, 40008, or any of our other many Pocket Boards. And, of course, we have several other boards for both necklaces and bracelets, too.

NOTE: Any beads, tools, supplies, etc., shown in photos or videos are not included.

FAQs

  1. Can I save on shipping if I buy more than one item?
    • Yes! First, you won't see any discount at check-out, but will receive it by way of a refund before we ship. Also, you must buy everything at the same time and ship to the same address.
    • We calculate your refund by subtracting from what you paid what it actually costs to combine and ship your order in as few packages as is safely possible.
  2. Do you customize or personalize?
    • The short answer is, "No, we do not."
    • We do, however, listen to suggestions and will sometimes incorporate them into future designs if we feel that doing so would benefit a substantial number of beaders. Just drop us a convo!
    • We are truly sorry if our current designs don't suit your needs or taste, and hope that you will return periodically to see if we have made anything new that will.
  3. Do you haggle, discount, or donate?
    • In short, no.
    • Why?  Our offerings are painstakingly hand-crafted while being continuously inspected along the way. We are not a company as most folks would generally define one, but a semi-retired husband and wife team who works out of our basement. Considering what we charge, and after deducting production time, materials, and overhead - not to mention social media, photography, editing, equipment maintenance, telephone calls, etc. - we consider ourselves blessed when we manage to pull in even close to what we were paid by our previous employers.
  4. Why don't you bums offer free shipping?
    • Just as we have no intention of insulting your intelligence by trying to convince you of the existence of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, or the Easter Bunny, we'll not suggest to you that shipping is somehow magically "free." While some sellers raise their prices to present such a fantasy, we believe you will want us to keep prices as low as possible. Besides, if we hid the cost of shipping within our pricing, we'd have to charge the same shipping price to everyone, meaning that people who live close to us would have to pay more than is fair in order to subsidize those who live farther away. Here's a bit of wisdom for those who have never heard it: "There is no such thing as 'free.' "
  5. Do you ship internationally?
    • Nope.  We tried it for a while, but shipping charges were almost putting our dear, fellow beaders into cardiac arrest, and many would blame US!  We try very hard to offer near wholesale prices, and surely don't want a reputation for being unfairly expensive. So, until our collective governments pull their heads out on fair trade, we have decided to discontinue international shipping for the foreseeable future.
  6. OMG, shipping is, like, SO expensive! Why don't you (x, y, or z)?
    • We have done much research to ensure that our shipping is the fairest available anywhere which includes tracking and insurance. If you think you can do better, please let us know, specifically.
    • The packaging we use come either from us or the USPS. We will use whichever gets your purchase to you the safest and at the least cost.
    • For more info, please see our first FAQ, entitled "Can I save on shipping if I buy more than one item?"
  7. How do I care for my new board?
    • The best thing to do to your board is nothing at all. Generally, if you're comfortable, so will your board be, i.e., not too hot, cold, humid, no defenestration, etc. The only caveat is that your board doesn't like to bathe or take showers, so don't get it wet. Maybe use a soft brush, or some spit-free air to blow out the divots. Look at it this way... Although we invest a great deal of time into making our boards serve as individual works of art, they're also tools. Dirt, scratches, nicks, etc., are badges of honor - signs of usage and (hopefully) prosperity. Just use the thing and display it with pride, no matter its condition.
    • But, if you simply must keep it pristine, then have it framed and hang it on the wall; we'd be honored! :-)
  8. You're out of stock on X, and I'll simply DIE without it! When will you have more? WHEN???
    1. Short Answer: ASAP!
    2. Long Answer: ASAP! Generally, jewelry items are forever gone once they're gone. Our beading boards, however, will be replenished anywhere from within a few hours to several days, depending on which 90 hours each of us chooses to work that week. We're a small husband and wife shop, and do the best we can, so please be patient and don't hold it against us if we choose to sleep occasionally. If you convo us, we can give you a rough idea of when X will be back in stock. But, if you just can't wait, you might want to consider calling a shrink.
  9. Who sneezed on my board? (It snot what you think!)
    • The darker-colored spots which you may find in the carved areas of your new board(s) are present in varying degrees from manufacturer to manufacturer and from lot to lot. With wood being a natural product, we expect these are bits of bark or knots that have been blended in with the wood pulp.
    • We're honestly not trying to pass off flaws as features, but, rather than finding them unsightly, we think of them as "beauty marks," because each board can be uniquely identified by their quantity and placement, as on a living thing.
    • We hope you appreciate our boards' raw individuality, versus our trying to hide their imperfections with paint or something. Besides, these markings are useful in beading groups to tell apart otherwise identical twins!

John and Laurie have been making and selling their products for some time, and it shows. They have a huge selection of bead boards of the highest quality, not to mention jewelry displays. Packaging was extremely well done, and I can’t imagine anything they send out ever getting damaged. Plus excellent communication every step of the way. In short, top notch sellers with the best products and service anyone could possibly want. HIGHLY recommended!
