A stained glass majestic toucan perched among the tropical flowers. His iridescent black feathers reflect an array of color as you pass by. The background of yellow and green flecks elude to the flora of the forest beyond. A soft black patina finishes the solder lines to blend into the panel and bring out the colors. This panel is 24 round including the custom frame of medium color stained wood. A strong wire is anchored inside the frame for secure hanging.

I am married with two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. My husband and myself live in Delaware, surrounded by chicken and vegetable farms. It’s a quiet, laid back lifestyle which fits our golden years nicely.
Stained glass is a hobby I had gotten into about 30 years ago. Now that I’m retired, children are on their own, and husband is busy with his own hobbies, I can devote more of my time to it.
Looking at sheets of glass and imagining what it can be turned into, then making it happen, is what gives me the most joy. Over the years I have designed and installed many windows for family and friends. Now most of my glasswork is sun catchers and small panels, though I enjoy making the occasional custom stained glass window.

How it’s Made
Each individual piece of glass is hand cut by me according to a pattern. The pieces edges are then ground so not to be sharp. They are then soldered together.
After a good scrubbing, the solder lines get a black patina. Another good scrubbing, and then a wax.
The panel is inserted into a custom wooden frame for hanging. The wire is embedded in the wood frame so the panel can be safely hung.

Please note that I believe strongly in recycling packaging when at all possible. Your item may arrive in new, or clean and reused bubble wrap and/or boxes.
The item you purchased will be packaged with care to avoid any breakage. However, things happen. Sometimes the carriers are not as careful as we'd like them to be. In the event your item arrives damaged, please contact me immediately. I will want to see a photo of the damaged item, and I will refund, or ask you to return it depending on what we determine/discuss.
