Meet the Maker

Hi and thank you for visiting my shop.  I am Constance and I specialize in preserving your cherished moments with memory quilts and pillows that are stylish and complement your home decor. I started making photo memory quilts while caring for my mother who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Seeing the joy and comfort that a quilt brought to her inspired me to create these cherished treasures for others. My photo quilts and pillows are made with fade-resistant ink and quality materials. They are available in a variety of sizes. They make wonderful gifts for everyone.

Please contact me before ordering and I will create a cherished quilt of memories for you.

How it’s Made

Once we receive the photos, they are printed out onto photo fabric with our fade-resistant ink. Next, they go through a process to prevent colors from bleeding or fading, then the photos are pressed and cut to size ready to sew to the fabric. The quilting fabric is pre-washed to color fast it and pressed to remove any creases or wrinkles.

The scriptures are created on an embroidery machine, and then the squares are sized up and prepared to sew to the quilting fabric. The photos and the scriptures blocks are laid out to decide which order is the most pleasing to the eye. The squares are then sewn together with borders that frame the photos and creates the top of the quilt. There are three layers to a quilt. This is the top layer. The middle layer is cotton batting, and the bottom layer is the backing of the quilt which is made of quilting fabric. The three layers are assembled together to make a sandwich. The sandwich is pinned together with safety pins or with basting spray to prevent it from shifting during the quilting/sewing stage. After the sandwich is quilted together it is ready to have the binding sewn around the edges of the quilt for the finishing touch.
