About this Product

This beautiful nautical wind chime sun catcher is one of a kind.

The clear glass bevel sails of this sailboat beckon you to the seas. Golden waves bring the gently waving sea to mind.

Five beaded wires hold red and clear glass beads. Clear prisms toss the sun rays around and give a soft tinkling sound as only glass can do while the pieces tap each other with the slightest movement. A red satin ribbon is attached to the top of the mast so your sun catcher wind chime is ready to hang.

This wind chime sun catcher can be hung inside, or outside in a protected area under a porch roof, dangling inside a doorway,or most anywhere else.

It is certain to bring light and music to everyone.

Overall length of the chime is approximately 14", the sailboat itself is approximately 5"X7". The chimes are strung on coated metal jewelers wire. NO monofilament is used in making this wind chime so no worries of the sun breaking plastic string.

SAFETY & CARE OF YOUR WINDCHIME/ SUN CATCHER

Take care when handling your wind chime/ sun catcher as it IS glass. It’s not overly fragile, but if dropped, it CAN break. • Hang it in an area sheltered from strong winds, such as a porch, or covered patio, or in front of an open window. The more protected the area you hang your glass piece, the longer you’ll be able to enjoy its beauty.

Meet the Maker

Thanks for stopping in to share my passion !

I am married with two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. My husband and myself live in Delaware, surrounded by chicken and vegetable farms. It’s a quiet, laid back lifestyle which fits our golden years nicely.

Stained glass is a hobby I had gotten into about 30 years ago. Now that I’m retired, children are on their own, and husband is busy with his own hobbies, I can devote more of my time to it.

Looking at sheets of glass and imagining what it can be turned into, then making it happen, is what gives me the most joy. Over the years I have designed and installed many windows for family and friends. Now most of my glasswork is sun catchers and small panels, though I enjoy making the occasional custom stained glass window.

Enjoy your time here, and if you should have an idea for something special, please contact me and we’ll see if I can make it happen for you.

How it’s Made

After the beveled sail is foiled and soldered together, the red accent pieces are cut to fit, foiled, and soldered to the sail. The waves are made from wire and attached to the boat. Next I string the beads and crystals onto jewelers wire and attach them to the "waves". And it's ready for a gentle sea breeze !
