This stained glass maple leaf captures autumn's beauty in it's colors and design. With shades of yellow, brown and red, each section of the leaf is filled with translucent glass. Light filters through the glass and gives a room the feeling of walking through a forest ablaze with autumn foliage.

I am married with two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. My husband and myself live in Delaware, surrounded by chicken and vegetable farms. It’s a quiet, laid back lifestyle which fits our golden years nicely.
Stained glass is a hobby I had gotten into about 30 years ago. Now that I’m retired, children are on their own, and husband is busy with his own hobbies, I can devote more of my time to it.
Looking at sheets of glass and imagining what it can be turned into, then making it happen, is what gives me the most joy. Over the years I have designed and installed many windows for family and friends. Now most of my glasswork is sun catchers and small panels, though I enjoy making the occasional custom stained glass window.

How it’s Made
I begin by selecting a pattern for the maple leaf design, then choose appropriate colors of glass for each part of the maple leaf design.
Using a glass cutter I cut the glass sheets into the shapes outlined by the pattern.
After cutting, I use a glass grinder to smooth the edges of each glass piece to remove any sharp edges .
copper foil tape is then wrapped around the edges of each glass piece.
Arranging the foiled glass pieces according to the pattern, they are then soldered together, any adornments are added, and the leaf is cleaned, patina applied, waxed and polished.

Please note that I believe strongly in recycling packaging when at all possible. Your item may arrive in new, or clean and reused bubble wrap and/or boxes.
The item you purchased will be packaged with care to avoid any breakage. However, things happen. Sometimes the carriers are not as careful as we'd like them to be. In the event your item arrives damaged, please contact me immediately. I will want to see a photo of the damaged item, and I will refund, or ask you to return it depending on what we determine/discuss.
