This stained glass honeycomb suncatcher features a hexagonal design, mimicking the structure of a honeycomb. The hexagon is made of an amber colored stained glass in the pattern of a real beehive.
The glass piece allows light to filter through and create beautiful patterns when hung in a sunny window.
This sun catcher also has a single small bee made of metal, and an amber glass honey drop adding a whimsical touch to the design.

I am married with two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. My husband and myself live in Delaware, surrounded by chicken and vegetable farms. It’s a quiet, laid back lifestyle which fits our golden years nicely.
Stained glass is a hobby I had gotten into about 30 years ago. Now that I’m retired, children are on their own, and husband is busy with his own hobbies, I can devote more of my time to it.
Looking at sheets of glass and imagining what it can be turned into, then making it happen, is what gives me the most joy. Over the years I have designed and installed many windows for family and friends. Now most of my glasswork is sun catchers and small panels, though I enjoy making the occasional custom stained glass window.

How it’s Made
Your sun catcher is handmade entirely by me.
First I decide on a design, then choose the glass I think would look best. Next I hand cut the glass, and the edges get smoothed with a grinding wheel. The individual piece is then foiled around the edges so the solder has something to adhere to. After soldering, the piece is washed, then it is waxed and buffed so it has a nice sheen. The bee and "honey" drop are then soldered on, and finally, a ribbon is attached so it's ready to hang in one of your windows, on a Christmas tree or even a houseplant.
The solder does contain some lead, please keep out of reach of children and pets.
When your piece eventually needs to be cleaned, a swish through warm soapy water and a quick polish and buff with furniture polish will bring back the shine.
Shop Policies
Please note that I believe strongly in recycling packaging when at all possible. Your item may arrive in new, or clean and reused bubble wrap and/or boxes.
The item you purchased will be packaged with care to avoid any breakage. However, things happen. Sometimes the carriers are not as careful as we'd like them to be. In the event your item arrives damaged, please contact me immediately. I will want to see a photo of the damaged item, and I will refund, or ask you to return it depending on what we determine/discuss.
