About this Product

Cotton print chemise dress has an antiqued, old world vibe with galleon ships, tattooed mermaids and fateful phrases in the design. The elasticized empire waist snugs comfortably and flows out into a long A-line dress that has pockets hidden in the side seams. Bowtie shoulder straps are adjustable and are made from a soft navy blue cotton that coordinates with the underbust casing and ruffle trim. A beautiful, comfortable dress that would look nice for a day at the seaside, or coordinated into a historical or renaissance outfit, or even as a lovely housedress. All seams are bound and serged. I take pride in making quality garments that are not only beautiful in design, but are constructed using quality materials and durable sewing techniques. This dress will last for years~How it’s Made:Part of the look of this dress is the antiqued, parchment feeling that the cotton print has. In trying to keep with that look, I did a light hand dye of the scalloped ruffle fabric which started out as stark white with the navy scallops. I used permanent procion fabric dyes, so the color is set, but just creating that light tan, buff tone really coordinates it with the feeling of the galleon ships and old antiqued look.Ladies size Large, to fit a bust size ranging from 40"to 44" (inches)Being that this is a full, flowing A-line dress, waist and hips measurements do not matter.Current length from underbust casing to finished bottom edge of ruffle is 47". A free hem-to-length is included with the purchase of this dress, so if you would like it hemmed shorter before shipping, please just message me.

Meet the Maker

Hi, my name is Trinity. I have been a professional tailor and dressmaker for almost 30 years now. I originally learned basic sewing from my mother, and kept designing and sewing all through my teenage years. At 19, I began working in the fur and leather aspect of the industry, creating and altering buckskin and various other leather and fur jackets and clothing. As time went on, I worked in a lot of different sewing settings, from factory line sewing to a mens tailoring shop, all the while continuing to create my own clothing and dress designs and selling them at faires, markets, and eventually online when the internet came along. These days I have my own sewing and alterations shop located in beautiful Sonoma County, Ca., where I alter customers clothing as well as offer my creations for sale.

In my spare time (Ha!) I also enjoy hiking, foraging for wild mushrooms and berries, classic car restoration, mermaid swimming, and battling the stranglehold of capitalism.

Thankyou for looking through my shop~
