As for me, I'm Rach Robbins, a mixed media artist who grew up running around in the Maine woods, reading books in trees, sculpting with mud dug from the brook, bathing in the river, throwing hay bales, and organic gardening on our family farm. Dreaming was encouraged, and I never stopped.

How it’s Made
Birch panels are fun and challenging. You gotta sand them, then acrylic gesso, and if you're me, you want to do one coat of transparent textured, and one coat of semi-translucent white so you can "see" the wood's natural pattern. Like all my artwork, Snow Bunnies is a visualization/meditation process. I stare at the woodgrain, like you would some tea leaves, and trace whatever I "see" with a charcoal pencil. Then I start painting...and now I'll quit geeking out. Write me if you want more on my creative process. It's not always the same. Oh, and I go "frame-hounding" at local antique stores, estate sales, lawn sales, and vintage shops, then clean them up. OR I buy new frames and use antiquing methods to make them LOOK old. This one's antique wood that I tried to clean up. No idea the era of it, but old enough that they used small nails rather than modern hardware on the old piece that I removed for your Snow Bunnies and their sweet gal.

Right As Rain Eclectic Art sells only Rachel Robbins originals in the GoImagine shop, so all sales are final. Unfortunately, refunds or returns are not an option when it comes to owning a OOAK piece.
